For New Year's, my sister and her fiance Justin came down and we went to The Melting Pot. David was able to get a 9:30 dinner reservation which ended up being perfect, as we were able to see the guitar drop which was only a block away from The Melting Pot. Unfortunately, the menu is already off their website, so you only get my made up descriptions. We started with two cheese fondues, one was chipotle swiss and the other was a garlic cheddar. Michelle and I both had the strawberry salads, David had the apple-walnut-Gruyere salad, and Justin had the ceasar salad. Next was the main course we got both of the options available for the night, so we had seafood, steak, and chicken with a broth for cooking. And finally, we ended the night with the dessert fondue. We got the yin and yang dessert fondue which is dark and white chocolate and the s'mores fondue which was milk chocolate, marshmallow fluff, and graham crackers. We all agreed the dessert fondues were the best part of the whole meal.

And finally, the evening ended with the dropping of the guitar outside of the Hard Rock Cafe downtown. They also had fireworks and some country music singer whom I have never heard of. We got there about 10 minutes before midnight and were able to get close enough to get these photos.

The dropping eight foot guitar was a transcendentally meaningful way to usher in the New Year. For those of you looking for a momentous celebration at this time next year, we have a vacancy of one room. For those less concerned about having a plush sleeping surface (and their privacy...) we do have two other beds. But make your reservations early, because with an opportunity like this, someone might beat you to it!

That looks awesome. Great pictures of the fireworks. I want to go to The Melting Pot with Eric, is it worth it if you don't like a lot of meat?
You could just go for dessert. Also, I would say that the cheese fondue, salad, and dessert fondue would make the experience worthwhile even if the entree wasn't your cup of tea. (fwiw, their vegetarian choice sounds like it would be great)
Good to know, thanks for the insight David. I have looked at their online menu a few times and for some reason was thinking Eric wouldn't care for the veggie options either. Maybe it had mushrooms or something. Not sure. In any case I will keep it on my possiblity list next time we are somewhere where family can watch the boy.
