The second day we were in College Fjord. We arrived there at 6:02AM according to the deck log book, so after having a very long first day, we had to wake up early. Clearly from the pictures you can tell the sun had no problems being up that early. The first picture is from when we entered College Fjord. The college fjord was first documented in 1899 by the Harriman expedition. They named all of the glaciers after the ivy league schools at the time, all except for Princeton. Sadly none of the schools that David and I have attended were represented. It was also the epicenter of the Good Friday Earthquake in 1964, the most powerful earthquake in recorded U.S. history. It lasted nearly 5 minutes and had a moment magnitude of 9.2 and registered 8.4 on the Richter scale. This info is courtesy of Wikipedia.
This is a picture of the great Harvard glacier at the end of College Fjord. We were not able to go very far into the Fjord because of the ice. David and I quickly got bored and headed inside for breakfast.
The rest of the day we had to entertain ourselves because the ship was at sea. We joined a trivia group and lost. We played passenger feud and lost, we actually got zero points on this game. Our category was things you would give your mother-in-law for Christmas. David said, "Nothing". By the way all of the gifts were more appropriate for a girlfriend on Valentine's day, things like chocolate and flowers and perfume. We also played another trivia game and lost. We also played Bingo and surprise, suprise, we lost. Then because we were feeling a little down from losing so much we went to a comedy show starring Gary Delena which was entertaining. He had a particularly entertaining song about prunes. Since we were no longer feeling down, we decided to give the Majority Rules gameshow a shot, and we lost. Below is a picture of David outside of the casino. We did not even venture in, I am predicting that had we gone in, we would have lost.
