Dining room floor

We decided it was time to rip up the carpet in the dining room. It was getting pretty gross right next to the kitchen and the sliding glass door and was hard to clean. Costco was having a sale so we decided to get some laminate from there. First step was ripping up the carpet and scraping off the glue from the pad. In the process of doing this, we also found out that I was indeed correct and our dining room light fixture is in the wrong place. The blue "X" is in the center of the room and is not below the light. In the picture below, you can see the water proof plastic stuff that I got to put down.
