Dandelions

On Saturday, Abigail got a haircut. It was her second one. Her hair was getting hard to manage since she won't let us pull it back so it was getting in food and was quite ratty at the ends. She got to sit in a pink car and watch a show about Minnie while she got a haircut. For her, the best part was the lollipop that she got at the end. She actually did really well. Also, in case it as not become obvious, she is really into wearing dresses and also likes it when I wear dresses. Also, she likes to wear one pink shoe and one purple shoe.

Here she is helping to make a peach brown betty. She asked David to photograph her, so I decided to stick them on the blog. It can be challenging cooking with her because she wants to stick her hands in everything and lick everything, including measuring spoons that have had baking powder and cornstarch on them (yuck!). This recipe was nice at the end because after you bake the biscuits, you crumble them up which she enjoyed.

She also enjoys feeding Jonathan and he enjoys it also.

Here they are unknowingly sharing a toy.

Well, maybe Jonathan realized they were sharing.

Jonathan showing off his first tooth. It is the front left bottom tooth. If you squint just right, you can see a little bit of white. The neighboring tooth is currently coming in.

And we now have a crawler! He can get around pretty quickly. So far the only things that get in his way are footed pajamas on carpet, Abigail, David, me, and the gate. Maybe he will get to have a crawling race with his cousin Nathaniel sometime. Abigail is not always a fan of his new mobility because it means he can get to her toys.

Playing with the gate. I think this entertained them for about 15 minutes.

I like how fascinated Jonathan is with the pinwheel and how Abigail is in her on world with the ice cream truck.

Well, Jonathan would beat Nathaniel hands down in a crawling race because Nathaniel hasn't figured out how to crawl yet. He gets on his knees, and then figures it would be easier to just roll over to get where he wants to go. He's pretty fast, but I'm sure not as fast as Jonathan.

I remember how mad Amelia used to get when Megan would try to play with her toys, especially when Megan would knock down her block towers. Now they just keep all their toys in their room and tell Nathaniel he's not allowed in.

My girls like to taste all the things when we bake together, even the weird non-tasty things. They especially like to taste flour. Weirdos.

Abigail looks very cute with her haircut, although I thought it looked cute before you got it cut, too. She has such nice hair!

Nathaniel has that same First Mate shirt with plaid pants. It would have been fun to get a photo of them in matching clothes to see how much they look alike (although I suspect the answer would be not at all).

We make Abigail pick out some toys to share with Jonathan. She likes to have him at her tea parties as long as he only touches the food that she gives him, although he tends to want to got to the other food also.

I think you mom bought that outfit for Jonathan. He wears it a lot.

We had to get her haircut. The ends were just getting to be quite a disaster. It is much easier to comb now. The hair, the blue eyes, and the eyelashes are quite the combo.

I am glad to hear that Abigail is not the only weirdo that likes to eat flour and other things. She actually opens up the flour canister and sticks her hand straight in to get a nice big handful.

Do you need Jonathan to come teach Nathaniel how to crawl?
